part one: establishing the foundation

Whether one can admit it or not, we all carry a longing to truly connect with something greater than ourselves. Science has backed this and your own life can attest to it, just think about all those times you felt an emptiness, a longing desire for something you couldn’t quite put a name to.

Timothy Keller pens this quote which I believe describes this human experience:

“There is a spiritual and transcendent realm. Human beings sense it and want to connect to it. Every human being will worship something, will revere something, and will make something of their ultimate concern.”

The question then becomes, what is this “something” that we feel we need a connection to? People often think it’s their inner self, or think they have to dive deeper into their own minds to find the real them. But then this question comes, what was the source of your life? 

There is something that created your life, that created the entire Universe, and this “Something” must be infinitely wiser + greater than everything that’s ever been created, including ourselves. 

Here’s the truth: because “God has set eternity in the hearts of man” (Ecclesiastes 3:11), this “Something” we feel in our hearts is actually the God given awareness that we are made for and from something MORE! More than what we can see and touch. 

Think about it:
Where do you think your innate sense of right and wrong came from? Why is it that from infancy you could tell bad from good? Where did that desire to go help someone who is in pain come from? That compassion you have is not merely societal grooming.
How is it that humans are the only creation able to build skyscrapers and submarines? The ability to create doesn’t just come from hard work!
It all stems from us humans being made in the Image and Likeness of a Holy and Righteous God, our Creator. 

There is not just only a god, but One God. The Only God! Believing that God exists is one thing, but I write this to emphasize that there is only one way to be in right standing with this God, and that is through the name and person of Jesus. 

Jesus is the only Name that from generation to generation carries the power and authority to drive out darkness. He is the only Name that can change and transform a person’s life completely around. He is the only Name that can save us, reconcile us to God + lead us to eternal life. 

“Jesus said to him, “I am THE way, THE truth, and THE life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” 
John 14:6

I have heard of many testimonies of people who have called out to their gods and none answered. By what I call a divine intervention, a thought came to their minds to call out to Jesus in their distress, and He lovingly showed up to them as God Almighty.

Call out to Him today, the only true God wants a relationship with YOU!
