it will come to pass.

I pray this encourages you!

As the rain and the snow
come down from heaven,
and do not return to it
without watering the earth
and making it bud and flourish,
so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,
so is my word that goes out from my mouth:
It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

Isaiah 55:10-11 NIV

As I was looking out my window today, at all the snow, this verse popped up into my head. What I noticed was that some of the snowflakes were being tossed to and fro. Snowflakes rarely, if ever, hit the ground fast. It takes a while for them to come from the sky, onto the earth, and pile onto your car or driveway. But one thing is for certain, it will come down.

the waiting.

This reminded me that some promises, words spoken over your life from God, will take time to come to pass. If God tells you that you will be a doctor, for example, you won’t become a doctor overnight.

So, not every word from God will be a right now word.

For the revelation awaits an appointed time;
it speaks of the end
and will not prove false.
Though it linger, wait for it;
it will certainly come
and will not delay.

Habakuk 2:3 NIV

God didn’t give us the fruit of the Spirit of Patience for no reason. Patience is to be exercised in these times, because He knew there will be times of waiting.

I kept looking out the window as I was realizing all of this, then all of a sudden the snow turned to rain. It started to drizzle and the rain was hitting my windowsill, and it came down way faster than the snow. In Isaiah 55:10, God said both rain and snow come from Heaven. Some words or blessings from God come to pass so fast that your head will swim (Amos 9:13-15 MSG)!

There are seasons of snow, and seasons of rain..

yet God makes everything beautiful in His time.

Whether it is your season of snow where you see the promise but it hasn’t fallen yet, or if you’re in your season of rain, where God’s provisions are in your hands, stay encouraged that He’s the same God in the valley as He is on the mountain.
