Where does your strength come from?
What keeps you going throughout the day?
If the source of your strength could one day be depleted, is that something you want to put your trust in? Your morning coffee, finances, or a person’s encouragement, are all fine, but when these become the foundation of our strength, what happens when this goes away? Or when it is one day inaccessible to you? Where do you go, or what do you do?
Instead of going to the created things, go to the Creator.
God commands us to be strong in the Lord. To draw our strength from Him! Our own strength will always fail us. When the well we draw our water of strength from is our own capabilities, we will always run dry and feel like we are striving instead of thriving, and it is so much easier to give up this way.
God has told us to not be weary in well doing (Galatians 6:9) because weariness comes from walking in our own strength. God never fails, He never gets tired and He is forever strong. Yes, God knows we will get tired, but what did He tell us to do when this happens? He told us to go to Him to gain your strength!
Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;but those who hope in the Lord
Isaiah 40:30-31 NIV
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.
Child of God, I want to encourage you that the Lord’s strength is now your strength. The God who made everything in this Earth and the One who has all power!! When you cannot go any further, and when you feel like your strength is depleted, go to King Jesus, the source of your strength, He will never fail, or get tired of giving you strength when you ask of Him.
Look to the Lord and His strength; seek His face always.
1 Chronicles 16:11
I want us to see ourselves not with our physical eyes, but with a spiritual lens. You may not have biceps in the mirror, but in the Spirit, you’re not one to play with!! How? Because the Lord is your strength. Trust that He has equipped you with strength even when you don’t see it.
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
Ephesians 6:10-13
