Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path
Psalms 119:105 NKJV
God has shown you the path of life through His Word, By His grace, and by the Holy Spirit who gives understanding. What is ‘unknown’ may leave some people wondering what is the exact path to their calling.
You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.
Psalms 11:16
The path of life isn’t your career. It isn’t your school, and it isn’t your marriage. It’s not even your family! The path of life is the path to Jesus, because He is the Way, the Truth, and the LIFE!
As we read in the beginning, it is only by reading the Word of God that your path will be enlightened. For example, your path of love may be dark because of lack of understanding, yet after reading 1 Corinthians 13, the light has been shone, and now you know the path of love is to be patient, kind, and not a keeper of wrongdoings.
However, the road, address and street number to your destiny may not be shown all the way because we only know in parts here on Earth.
For we know in part, and we prophesy in part [for our knowledge is fragmentary and incomplete].
1 Corinthians 13:9 NLT
Even though you may not know where to go, rest assured that God does! And by His Spirit We are led.
The Lord directs the steps of the godly.
He delights in every detail of their lives.
Psalms 37:23 NLT
God doesn’t always give a clear picture of where He wants us to walk. It’s not like when you receive Christ a blueprint of everything you’d ever accomplish with time stamps was given to you. It takes trust and belief to keep your mind stayed on God as He keeps you in perfect peace while go through the unknown paths and every valley of the shadows of death. Trust that the Holy Spirit will lead you into paths of righteousness. Trust that He will make your crooked paths straight.
He won’t give a spotlight to see each and every step beforehand. But along the way, He will tell you and guide you where to go. One thing that keeps me is that God promised to be there always, and He is making sure that my feet are placed on the firm foundation- Christ.
God will always reveal Himself to you first before revealing His plan for your life, as He is the source.
And I replied, ‘Who are You, Lord?’
Acts 22:8-10 AMP
And He said to me, ‘I am Jesus the Nazarene, whom you are persecuting.’
Now those who were with me saw the light, but did not understand the voice of the One who was speaking to me.
And I asked, ‘What shall I do, Lord?’
And the Lord answered me, ‘Get up and go into Damascus. There you will be told all that is appointed and destined for you to do.’
And since I could not see because of the brightness of that light, I was led by the hand by those who were with me, and came into Damascus.(ESV)
You may be asking God the same question Paul had: What shall I do, Lord?
Know this: There is always a response when we are in the presence of the Father. Our hearts should always incline to hear from God- to hear what He has for us to do, and like Paul, to keep going, even if we can’t see our way to get there.
